REMI MEAD

REMI MEAD

Remi Mead was born in 1989 in Okinawa, Japan before moving to Colorado and then to her current residence in Hawaii. Although English was her second language she expressed herself by drawing as a form of communication. Upon arriving in Hawai’i she was exposed to the urban art scene and quickly left behind her tendency toward realistic portraits and landscapes to delve into finding her own “style.” Inspired by peer art, her love for bunnies and drawing portraits, she was led to incorporating bunnies and girlish figures into her repertoire. She finds female portraits particularly fascinating because of the range of possibility as far as color and pretty flourishes. She hopes her audience finds her characters’ facial expressions, hair styles and colorful outfits as fascinating as she does.
