The latest series of work depicts the petrochemical industry in Kaohsiung, created by various uncharted islands. The hideous formation of rocks, as if catastrophic events suddenly caused it to freeze, still bears the remains of civilisation. Painted in the style of surrealism with a touch of romance, the work prophesizes the return of Nature and downfall of Man when civilisation has exhaused all natural resources and faces the arrival of natural disasters. Civilisation is swallowed by Nature and all that remains are the ruins of its faded glory. The piece reflects the artist's concern for his hometown and also the influence caused by Man on the environment.
