FLYING FORTRESS

FLYING FORTRESS
Matthias took the name Flying Fortress from a World War II bomber. He has became famous for his “Teddy Trooper”, now found on every imaginable surface. A skateboarder since the end of the eighties, Matthias discovered the works of Jim Philips and Andy Howell and New York’s graffiti scene during its golden era. Flying Fortress, like numerous artists committed to the urban scene and skateboarding culture, encounter and link the universes of skateboarding and graffiti via their work. His compositions have been used by several skateboard brands like Hessenmob, Rockawaybear and Grave skateboards, and he has collaborated with Element and DVS on other artistic projects. Adfunture also produces his “Teddy Troopers” as urban vinyl toys.
